A large George III Mahogany bookcase over base. The arched top section has an arrangement of four astragal glazed doors each pair close together with a brass bead and enclose adjustable shelving. Incorporated into the bottom shelf are two slide out candle rests each with a small brass knob. The base has two pairs of moulded panel doors also with brass beads encosing internal shelves, all standing on a plinth base. It is reputed to have been owned by Gregory Peck's family who were living in Ireland and was sold in the sale of the home in the 1950's. It remained in Ireland until recently when it was sold to an Irish Antique dealer and then to me.
