A Victorian free blown combination cranberry and vaseline glass jug with crimped rim and feet 12cm.  Note the pontil a scar left on blown glass when the punty is broken off. Generally found on the base of the glass. Then ground and polished into a smooth depression. The process for producing cranberry glass is painstaking and difficult, requiring precise mixing of the glass formula and a skilled craftsmen.

CRANBERRY GLASS. The colour of wild Cranberries, the pink is subtle,  and was very popular with the Victorians for tableware’s.  Victorian Cranberry glass is often very fine glass, showing faults in the glass, such as trapped air bubbles.
